Full House Comedy Shows September 2022

  • Thursday September 1st 08:00PM - Park Theatre
  • Zainab Johnson Live at Park Theatre
  • Letting laughter carry her through the day, Zainab Johnson shares with audiences how interesting everyday life can be, especially when you turn the day’s drama into serious comic relief. Whether she’s performing on stage, writing a script, or acting on screen, Zainab is making people laugh with her own engaging style. Zainab began her career in entertainment as an actress, having moved from home in New York City to the glitz and grit of Los Angeles soon after college. As she pursued roles for television and film, others saw in her a talent for comedy that she had never considered before. Her first appearance as a series regular on television for BET’s “Hell Date” led her to explore comedy in earnest, studying the craft with the Groundlings and IO West, two improvisational comedy groups. Zainab then went on to perform improv and sketch comedy with Troop Hollywood and the Black Hand Side. In 2010, Zainab took a leap of faith in her talent and did her first solo stand-up performance. Her success from that day and her talent for the craft have propelled her to working in top clubs throughout the country, from LA to NYC, including the Improv, Laugh Factory, Standup NY, and Caroline’s on Broadway. Zainab is a Last Comic Standing semi-finalist and has performed at the 2014 BET Experience at LA Live and the world famous Just For Laughs Festival in Montreal. She has also appeared on Comic View, the Arsenio Hall Show, and Gotham Live. AWARDS Winner, 2013, HBO’s American Black Film Festival Comedy Wings Competition Semi-Finalist, 2014, NBC’s Last Comic Standing

  • Neko White Live Stand Up Comedy
  • Funny, smart, fresh, magnetic. These are just some words that describe the comedy of Neko White. Born in 1993, Neko has been a professional stand-up comedian since 2007 at the age of 14. In 2014, Neko taped his first one-hour stand-up special, Introducing Me. As a personality, Neko has stolen the show on MTV 2’s Hip Hop Hollywood Squares, and Elite Daily’s wildly popular Gen Why show. As a stand-up comedian, Neko has appeared on Axs Tv's Gotham Comedy Live, Sirus XM's "Sway In the morning Show" FOX’s Laughs, Popcornflix’s Live at New York Comedy Club, and a documentary on his life entitled One Mic. A native of Harlem, Neko began his comedy career the first day of high school when a teacher asked if anyone in the class had a talent. Being a shy kid who never thought he would do stand-up, he felt inspired. “Something just came over me that said ‘Go tell jokes.’ I went up in front of eight people and it worked. It’s been comedy ever since.” Now a professional working comedian there is no stopping this twenty something from chasing his dream of being the best comedian he can be. Following in the footsteps of his favorite comedians Katt Williams, Chris Rock, Bernie Mac and Dave Chappelle. Armed with a well-developed view of the ever changing world around him, quick wit, and very endearing charm. Neko’s material is a mix of social commentary and personal analysis that hits on every target from the most topical controversy to his own self-image. Not to mention a tenacious work ethic that leads White to do more than 500 shows a year. He hones his skills on the comedy club circuit of New York City, a regular at top comedy clubs such as Caroline’s on Broadway, Comic Strip Live, Broadway Comedy Club, and New York Comedy Club. He has performed in the New York Comedy Festival and opened for headliners including Donnell Rawlings and Jay Pharoah. Neko has been described by fans and reviewers as “a breath of fresh air” and “an endearing old soul.” Neko’s biggest supporter was his grandmother who would tell Neko before he left for shows: “Knock ‘em dead, kill ‘em.” After her passing, Neko vowed to make his grandmother proud. It’s safe to say that grandma can rest assured because her baby boy is still knocking them dead and does not show any signs of slowing down.

  • Josh Blue Live at Grand Rapids Comedy Club
  • Perhaps best known as the comedian who puts the cerebral in Cerebral Palsy, Josh Blue centers much of his self-deprecating act around his disability. He exploded onto the national comedy scene by capturing the attention and endearment of the country as the winner of NBC’s Last Comic Standing.  Having already established himself as one of the most sought-after comedians on the college circuit, his weekly appearances on Last Comic expanded his fan base exponentially.  Josh starred in Comedy Central Presents: Josh Blue, which received rave reviews from fans and critics alike and was named the 11th best special on the network in 2011. Josh debuted a one-hour special on Showtime, Sticky Change, where he tells stories about everything from being a white African-American, to dealing with cabbies who think he’ll pay in sticky change. In 2016, Josh released his third one-hour special, DELETE, available on HULU and Amazon, in which he explains why you shouldn’t call disabled people “inspirational”. He has appeared twice on Ron White’s Comedy Salute to the Troops on CMT and made his late-night television debut on The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson. He has most recently appeared on The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon on NBC.  Possessed with an undeniable likeability and impeccable comedic timing; Josh continues to break down stereotypes of people with disabilities one laugh at a time.  His stand-up routine is in a constant state of evolution and his off-the-cuff improvisational skills guarantee that no two shows are exactly alike.  Josh made his television debut on Comedy Central’s Mind of Mencia. His story has been featured on Fox, CBS, ABC, and MSNBC.  He was the first comedian to perform stand-up on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, was named Best Winning Reality Show Guest for his appearance on Live with Regis and Kelly and made a standout appearance on Comics Unleashed.  He became the first comic to debut a stand-up special on the big screen when his first one-hour special, 7 More Days in the Tank was shown in movie theatres across the country. Portions of the performance also aired on Bravo Network as a half-hour comedy special.  Josh is a repeat guest on such nationally syndicated radio programs as NPR’s Talk of the Nationand The Mancow Show and has been featured in numerous print publications including People Magazine and The New York Times.  Josh was a member of the US Paralympic Soccer Team that competed in Athens at the Paralympic Games, the world’s second largest sporting event. He is a single father living in Denver, CO with his son, Simon and his daughter, Seika.
